About the Stone

Chalcopyrite is copper iron sulfide — brassy gold when fresh, developing an iridescent tarnish of blues and violets. 'Peacock Ore' is a trade name that has been used for both Chalcopyrite and Bornite, which are different minerals; Sacred Crystals keeps them as separate stones with separate teachings. Pyrite is a separate stone too.

Care

Do not soak it or use salt water — it is a sulfide and tarnishes further in moisture. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth and cleanse it dry: sage, sound or moonlight.
