The name serpentine comes from an Old French word, serpentin, meaning "of a snake" or "snake-like", because the stone often resembles snake skin. It is very common — if you dive deep below in the ocean's crust — but not so easy to find on the surface of the earth. Serpentine has been used as jewelry and as an architectural material for thousands of years, because it is easy to cut and polish.

Serpentine helps to clear out and release the clouded, dense areas of all chakras so that healing can occur. It works through the chakras and forms unique connections to promote healing in the way that is best for each individual. It also can assist in attracting abundance into one's life. Serpentine will do all it can to work with you to achieve inner peace; it helps to balance mood, a great disrupter of peace. It moves the powerful energy of Kundalini, the energy of enlightenment, through the chakra system to assist in connecting to the divine energy of all that is.
