"Patience as dreams become realized." Known as the Anger Eater, Howlite gently absorbs tension — both the anger that arises within and that directed toward you. Its soothing energy promotes calm, patience, and emotional clarity, making it a beautiful ally for sleep and meditation. A calming stone offering many blessings — and good for students. Naturally white, Howlite is often mistaken for White Turquoise, and may be found dyed in shades of blue or other colors.

About the Stone

Howlite is a calcium borosilicate, naturally white with grey or black web-like veining — discovered in Nova Scotia in 1868 and now mostly from California. Its veining is why dyed howlite is the world's most common turquoise imitation; Sacred Crystals names the stone first and the color second.

Care

Howlite is soft and porous: store it apart from other stones, do not soak it, and keep it away from salt water — dyed pieces can bleed when wet and may fade in the sun. Cleanse it dry, with sage or moonlight.
