About the Stone

Goldstone is not a mineral — it is aventurine glass: molten glass with copper, cooled slowly so that microscopic metallic copper crystals form inside it. The sparkle is real copper. It is a genuinely old craft, made in 17th-century Venice, and it gave natural Aventurine its name rather than the other way round. Blue and Green Goldstone are made the same way with cobalt and chromium, and carry their own teachings.

Care

It chips and scratches like glass and can crack with sudden temperature change — no ultrasonic cleaners, no hot-to-cold shocks. Cleanse it with sage or moonlight.

Goldstone is made in batches rather than dug from the ground, so pieces match closely, though the copper sparkle varies from one to the next.
