About the Stone

The moving band of light in Tiger Eye — chatoyancy, from the French for cat's eye — comes from parallel fibers replaced by silica while keeping their structure. Its golden brown is oxidized iron; unoxidized it stays blue-grey, and that is Hawk's Eye.

Care

Long hours in strong sun can dull the golden band over time; keep it out of the window when it is not with you. Cleanse it with sage or moonlight.
